One-of-a-kind hats, made in Coventry from materials with a story.

I’m Lindsey, the maker behind The Milliners Stash. I’ve been sewing and making for over 20 years, and for the past four years I’ve focused on millinery.

I still love watching a material change shape under steam, needle and hand, then become something entirely new.

A magpie’s eye for materials

I’ve always collected beautiful, unusual finds: 1960s French sequins, 1970s disc sequins from West Germany, vintage British petersham ribbon and even panels from 1920s opera coats. Those materials are part of what makes each hat special.

I also look for old hats with something worth celebrating, whether that’s a striking shape or a material like vintage sisal. Sometimes a high-street straw hat just needs a new idea and a little care to become a statement piece.

Made to stand out

Every hat I make has had a previous life. I give it a new one, creating an individual piece that feels stylish, expressive and entirely your own. Each hat is made in Coventry, and no design is repeated.
