Hi my names Lindsey, 

I am a self trained milliner with over 20 years of experience of sewing and making experience but the last 4 years my skills have focused on millinery. I have been enthralled at how the materials used in millinery are transformed by steam, needle and hands. 

Magpie tendencies 

The Milliners Stash has been born out of my tendency to collect beautiful rare materials like 1960’s French sequins, 1970’s disc sequins from west Germany, rolls of British silk mix vintage Petershams ribbon and even panels from 1920’s opera coats.

Those magpie tendency’s have also bled into my millinery where I have sourced old hats sometimes with amazing materials like vintage sisal and panamas, but sometimes they are quite mundane like a high street straw hat. But I will take these materials and work them into something modern, frequently vintage inspired but most importantly to work with the material to create something that can be worn again. 

Every hat in The Milliners Stash has had a previous life just like each and everyone of us. The Milliners Stash was started in July 2026 after I left my corporate life. Just like the hats I make I am moulding this into a beautiful new thing. 

Every hat like just like me is proudly made in Coventry, they are always original and no two are ever the same, never to be repeated.
